We organise traditional driven hunts for wild Barbary boar across mountain terrain and extensive agricultural estates in different regions of Morocco.
The Barbary wild boar (Sus scrofa barbarus) is native to North Africa, inhabiting diverse landscapes from rugged mountain terrain and forested slopes to extensive agricultural estates. Robust, resilient and remarkably agile, it can move at speed through dense cover and challenging terrain, making it a formidable quarry in traditional driven hunts.
From October To February.
This traditional, folkloric style of driven wild boar hunting focuses exclusively on wild, free-ranging animals. Its appeal lies in the character of the hunt, the landscape and local traditions rather than trophy size.
Drives take place in the Atlas Mountains and across extensive agricultural estates, including orange groves. Large numbers of experienced local beaters work together to move the cover and push the boar towards the waiting pegs. Dogs are not normally used, giving this hunting tradition its own distinctive character.
Rifles are not used. The hunt is carried out exclusively with over-and-under and side-by-side guns fitted with slug barrels and using slug cartridges.
