Aoudad

We organise exclusive trophy hunts for wild Barbary sheep, primarily in the Oriental region, with selected opportunities in other parts of the Kingdom.

The Barbary Sheep — Ammotragus Lervia — Aoudad

The Barbary sheep, or Aoudad (Ammotragus lervia), is an iconic species of North African mountain fauna. Powerful and rugged, mature rams carry impressive, backward-sweeping horns, making them a highly prized trophy.

Although introduced populations exist in Spain, North America, Mexico and other locations worldwide, North Africa remains its native range and natural homeland.

THE SEASON

From September To March

THE EXPERIENCE

The Hunt

A unique, physically demanding and highly exclusive mountain hunt, conducted in remote, rugged terrain. Steep climbs, long approaches and shots at extended distances make it a true challenge for experienced mountain hunters. Only a very limited number of wild Barbary sheep trophies are authorised each year in Morocco, making this a rare and exceptional opportunity.

Rifle & Metallic Cartridges

The stalking is conducted with a bolt-action rifle using metallic cartridges. Guests may bring their own rifle, with all temporary importation formalities and permits arranged in advance.

The quantity of metallic cartridges permitted for importation is strictly limited under Moroccan regulations.
