European Turtle Dove Shooting — Summer Game

Situated along a major migratory route between Europe and Africa, Morocco offers exceptional European Turtle Dove shooting across its principal agricultural regions, where seasonal migrations bring significant numbers of birds. Its long-standing tradition and distinctive shooting opportunities attract discerning hunters, mainly from Europe and the Gulf countries.

The European Turtle Dove

The European Turtle Dove (Streptopelia turtur) is prized for its fast, agile and unpredictable flight, making it a challenging quarry. This migratory species is the principal species pursued, while the Laughing Dove (Spilopelia senegalensis) may also be encountered.

THE EXPERIENCE

The Shooting — Medium Volume

Morocco offers a distinctive alternative to traditional high-volume dove shooting destinations, with the opportunity to hunt the European Turtle Dove in its natural environment.

The season takes place exclusively during the summer, lasting only a few weeks each year, with shooting permitted mainly at weekends.

Shooting takes place across extensive agricultural estates, mainly among olive groves. No decoys are used; guests take cover beneath the trees or behind traditional hay bales, waiting for birds to pass naturally.

The Turtle Dove’s fast, agile and unpredictable flight makes for challenging and spontaneous shooting.
